Ear Bugs

Have you ever had a song that you just couldn’t get out of your head? Did you notice that the more you tried to ignore it, the more persistent it became?

Same thing happens when you try to fall asleep, doesn’t it. The harder you try to shut your thoughts off, the faster they keep coming.

The reason is that what we resist, persist. Resisting being overweight, underweight, being broke, being alone, etc., only brings on more of the same.

Our conscious minds can only focus on one thought at a time. From this point on, when you hear your inner dialogue going on about your limitations, bad luck, unfortunate childhood, and you can’t do this or you can’t do that, recognize it for what it is – a habitual thought. Rather than wasting your time listening to it, analyzing it, justifying it, or fighting it, just let it go.

Acknowledge it, don’t fight it. Remember, what you resist, persist, and becomes stronger.

Then ask yourself why the exact opposite is true.

For example, if you find yourself thinking, “I’m always broke,” ask yourself, “Why am I so rich?” Keep asking that question. Don’t answer it, just ask it several times a day, for 42 days. This will become your new habitual thought. Whatever you think habitually will eventually become your new reality.

Same thing works for losing weight, healing your loneliness, improving your relationships, etc.

It works.

Now you know what to do.

Day 1 of the “90 Day Experiment”

The word “decision” comes from the Latin words “de cadere,” which means “to kill off.” In other words, something has to go. Choices have to be made; options have to die.

As you’ve learned, if you’ve been following this blog, our memories determine our beliefs. Our beliefs determine the way we “see” reality. The way we see reality determines the choices we make. The choices we make (typically unconsciously), determine the outcomes we experience.

If you haven’t done so already, today is the day to make a choice that will move you forward, today, tomorrow, and every day of this year.

Reflect on an area of your life that you’d like to be different. What is it you want to change? Be specific.

Is there someone you know who is already experiencing in their life what you want to experience in yours?

Write their name down, and all of the characteristics about them that you admire. Claim them as yours by asking, “Why am I __________ (fill in the blank with the characteristic you admire)? Do this as many times as you have characteristics written down.

Create a vision board with images of how you want your life to look different. Look at your board at least twice a day.

What disempowering thoughts do you have around this change? Change them into empowering questions (afformations). Ask these questions at least 5 times a day.

Pay attention to your emotions as you do these exercises. What is the emotional pay off to not making the change you want? Are you addicted to the feeling?

Do all of the above for the next 40 days. If you do this, your life will be dramatically different in 90.

Practicing What I Preach (My Daily Routine)

After years working as a full time Psychic Medium and Clairvoyant, I decided that on January 2, of this year, I would start pursuing my passion and work full time as a Spiritual Coach. After all, I’d been preaching to people to do the same as a Clairvoyant.

Truth be told, I’m really doing what I’ve been doing, but I’m changing the way I think about what I’m doing. In other words my focus, and goals, are now different than they were.

So, I’m now working with 78 afformations. I thought I’d share some of them with you, and my daily routine as well.

Here are some of the questions I’m asking –

  • Why do I live each day with passion and purpose?
  • Why do I visualize all that I desire?
  • Why am I absolutely certain I can create any amount of income I choose?
  • Why do I meditate daily and stay in constant sync with the vibrations of abundance and success?
  • Why does coaching people to achieve their goals and dreams energize me?
  • Why do 98% of my clients come to me through referrals?
  • Why am I so happy, and grateful, now that I’m booked solid with 30 appointments a week?
  • Why am I a genius using my wisdom at every moment?
  • Why am I open to Divine guidance?
  • Why do I have all the skills, intelligence, contacts and money I need, right now, to create an incredible masterpiece with my business?
  • Why is my business now filled with prosperity and abundance?
  • Why do I consistently attract all of the right people to help me grow my business?
  • Why does tremendous abundance flow into my business, which affords every luxury I desire?
  • Why do I have the resources to live a comfortable, satisfying life, accomplish my dreams and goals, and have more fun doing what I do?

These are just a few of the questions I’m asking, but when I’m working with someone, I typically suggest that they start out with only 10 so that they can get used to doing them. You can create questions about anything you want to manifest in your life, and that includes a new car, a new home, more income, a healthy, happy relationship, or your ideal weight.

One of the great things about this technology is that it helps keep you focused on what you want, without becoming attached. I’ll talk more about being detached in a future post.

So here’s what I do as far as my daily routine goes in order to manifest my desires –

When I wake up, before I remember who I currently believe who I am and what I can do (I’ll talk about this in a future post as well), I read my afformations. By the way, I have them laminated for this purpose.

Then I meditate for close to 30 minutes.

Next, I look at my vision board for anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. As I look at each image, I ask myself a question about it. For example, when I look at my image that represents my coaching practice, I ask myself, “Why am I so happy, and grateful, now that I have a thriving practice coaching 30 people a week to find their passion and purpose, and helping them create lives they love?”

“Why am I so happy, and grateful, now that I receive 9 referrals a day?”

“Why does coaching 30 people a week energize me?”

As I go about the rest of my day, I have copies of my afformations folded in in my pocket. I pull them out and read them when I’m standing in a line, waiting at a traffic light; anytime I have a few minutes to spare. I read them when I waiting for Cheryl to try out clothes in the dressing room of a department store …. LOL I especially read them when I’m feeling doubtful.

I read them out loud if I’m alone. Otherwise, I read them to myself.

I’m only asking the questions, I’m not answering them! I don’t even think about them after I’m done. I just put my three sheets of afformations back in my pocket.

If I have a few minutes to spare, typically before I go to bed, I spend them in front of my vision board again.

Then the last thing I do before I close my eyes to go to sleep is read my afformations again, and say a prayer of thanksgiving for the day.

This may seem like a lot, but it really isn’t. All total, it’s an hour spread out over my day. Half of that time is my daily meditation.

Wishing you the very best life has to offer to you,

Yours for the Asking!

If you’re going to make any sort of change in your everyday reality, you must first change your thinking! I’ve offered a few suggestions to do that.

  • Pick a goal, and set an intention.
  • Choose someone you think highly of, and know that what you admire about them is true about you.
  • Create vision boards of what you want to see in your life because your brain thinks in pictures.

All of this is to help you change your focus, and by doing so, you’ll change your beliefs.

Now I want to share a “secret” with you. Every time you ask a question, your mind must find an answer. It has no other choice.

In a previous post I talked about affirmations. I tried them and they didn’t work for me. I heard from one man who told me that he said an affirmation, and it did work for him … after saying it continuously … every day … for two years. No wonder it didn’t work for me! I gave up on each and every one of my affirmations long before two years was up!

The reason it didn’t work for me, and it doesn’t for most people, is that it goes against the formula – memory (past) becomes belief, which becomes what we observe, which becomes our reality.

Let’s say your goal is to become a millionaire. So you start affirming, “I’m a millionaire, I’m a millionaire, I’m a millionaire,” over and over again. Your subconscious mind searches for a memory that substantiates what you’re saying. It doesn’t find one, and ignores it.

So how do you get your subconscious mind to pay attention, even accept the idea? You ask it to … literally.

Rather than affirming, “I am a millionaire,” try asking, “Why am I a millionaire?” This piece of genius is something I learned from Noah St. John, Ph.D. He refers to it as “afformations.”

The beauty of doing this is that you’re not making a statement that your subconscious mind doesn’t believe, but asking a question; and when you ask a question, as I mentioned before, your mind has no choice but to find an answer, every time you ask.

And it’ll work with each and every one of your intentions.

Here’s one more secret. When you ask the question – do not answer it. If you do, you’ll be answering from your current level of awareness. Just ask the question, let God figure out the details.
